Felt Notes Privacy Policy
No account. Everything stays on this device. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Data is never sent anywhere.
What Felt Notes collects
Nothing. Felt Notes does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. There is no sign-up, no login and no server that receives information from the app.
What is stored on your device
To work, the app saves a small amount of data locally, on your phone or in your browser's local storage:
- Your trainer history: which drills you answered and how they were graded.
- Home-game nights you log: the player names you type in, your own hole cards and, if you choose, your own preflop actions.
- App settings, such as the TV dashboard delay and whether you have seen the welcome screen.
This data never leaves the device on its own. Felt Notes has no network features for it: no cloud sync, no backup service run by us, no upload.
Backups and exports you make
In About & privacy you can make a backup of all of the data above (a .json file), copy it as text, or export your logged home-game hands as a spreadsheet (.csv). These files are created on your device and handed to your phone's share sheet (or, on the web, downloaded by your browser). You choose where they go: your files, a cloud drive, an email to yourself. Felt Notes never uploads them, has no server to receive them, and cannot see them afterwards. Whoever you give a backup to can read everything in it, including the player names you typed, so keep it somewhere private.
Restore from backup reads a file you pick (or text you paste) on the device itself, and asks before replacing or merging anything.
Deleting your data
Open the ? help screen, then About & privacy and tap Reset all data. Uninstalling the app (or clearing this site's data in your browser) also deletes everything. Backup or CSV files you saved elsewhere are yours to delete; the app does not keep track of them.
Ads, analytics and third parties
Felt Notes shows no ads and contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs. It does not use your advertising ID, location or contacts.
Camera and microphone (optional). "Snap my cards" uses the camera only when you tap it, to read your two cards from one photo. The photo is processed on your device and is not saved or sent anywhere. The board caller uses the microphone only while you hold the mic button, and speech is turned into cards by your phone's built-in speech recognition. On iPhones and on Android phones with on-device recognition this stays on the phone; on some Android phones the operating system's recognition service may process the audio under Google's own privacy terms. Felt Notes never records or stores audio. You can deny both permissions and type or tap cards instead.
The app stores (Google Play, Apple App Store) and, for the web version, GitHub Pages, which hosts the site, may keep their own logs under their own privacy policies. Felt Notes receives none of that information.
Children
Felt Notes is a strategy trainer for adults and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.
No real-money gambling
Felt Notes is a learning and note-taking tool. It offers no real-money gambling, wagers or prizes.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Any change that would collect data would require an app update and would be described here first.
