Mosaic HighRes privacy policy
Mosaic HighRes ("the app") is published by Sage Arbor (the "Developer"). This policy describes what the app does with your data — in short: everything happens on your device, and no photo or mosaic of yours is ever uploaded anywhere. The one opt-in exception (importing an album from Google Photos) is described below.
Data the app accesses
| What | Why | Leaves the device? |
|---|---|---|
| Your photo library (read access) | To let you pick a "target" photo and a pool of photos used as mosaic tiles | Never |
| Photos from a Google Photos album (optional, read-only) | Only if you tap "Import a Google Photos album": the app signs you in to Google and downloads the photos you choose in Google's own picker, so they can be used as tiles | Nothing leaves the device. Photos come down from Google to your phone. The app sends Google only the sign-in token Google issued and the IDs of the photos you picked, holds that token in memory for the import, and stores no account details |
| The mosaic image the app builds | The whole point of the app — a new image file assembled from tiles of your pool photos | Never, unless you explicitly tap Share and pick a destination (e.g. Messages, email, Google Photos) — that is the normal Android/iOS share sheet handing the file to an app of your choice, not Mosaic HighRes uploading it anywhere itself |
On Android, the app requests the standard photo-library permissions
(READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, or the Android 14+ "select photos"
flow) and nothing broader. On iOS it requests Photos access through
the standard system picker.
What the app does NOT do
- No account, no sign-up, no login of its own. The optional Google Photos import uses your existing Google account through Google's standard sign-in, asks for read-only access to only the photos you pick, and can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- No analytics, no crash reporting that leaves the device, no advertising SDKs, no trackers of any kind.
- No photo, thumbnail, or rendered mosaic is ever uploaded, synced, or transmitted over the network by the app.
- No device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data are collected.
The only network use, and both are opt-in
Importing a Google Photos album. If you tap "Import a Google Photos album," the app opens Google's standard sign-in and Google's own photo picker (the Google Photos Picker API). The app then downloads the photos you selected to your device. It requests read-only access to just those photos, never your whole library; it never uploads, modifies, or deletes anything in your Google Photos; and it keeps no copy of your Google account details. The downloaded photos live in the app's private storage on your device like any other pool photo, and are removed when you remove them from the project or uninstall the app. Google's handling of the sign-in itself is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Tipping. The Support screen has an optional "Tip $5 on Venmo" button. Tapping it opens Venmo (or your browser) to the Developer's public tip page.
Nothing else in the app touches the network. Picking photos from your device, building the mosaic, and saving or sharing the result all work identically with no network connection at all.
Where exported files go
When you tap "Save to Photos," the finished mosaic is written to your device's own photo library, using the standard OS save APIs — the same place any photo you take goes. When you tap "Share," the operating system's normal share sheet opens and the file goes wherever you pick (a message, an email, another app). The Developer has no visibility into, and no copy of, anything you export.
Data retention and deletion
Nothing is stored anywhere except on your own device, so there is nothing for the Developer to retain or delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything the app itself created (its project data, cached thumbnails, and any exports saved inside the app's own storage). Exports you explicitly saved to your photo library or shared elsewhere are yours to manage like any other file — the app has no way to reach back and delete them, and does not try to.
Children
Mosaic HighRes is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, child or adult — see above.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and noted in the Play Store listing's changelog.
